Alfonso Rodriguez, 78, of Big Spring died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Big Spring Center for Skilled Care.
A rosary service will be Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
He was born January 13, 1938 to Rafela Rangel Rodriguez and Cruz Rodriguez in Caldwell County, Texas.
He married Rosalinda Gutierrez in 1955 in Big Spring and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2008.
Alfonso was a custodian of Big Spring ISD and Coahoma ISD retiring from Coahoma after many years.
Alfonso is survived by four sons: David Rodriguez, Ernest Rodriguez, Ralph Rodriguez all of Big Spring and Johnny Rodriguez of Arlington; six daughters: Mary Garcia of Arlington, Sally Solis, Irene Rodriguez, Christy Gonzalez, Lisa Rios and Sue Ellen Leos all of Big Spring; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Panfilla Hernandez, Dominga Valadez, Olivia Moreno, Amada Moreno, Feliz Rodriguez, Ramona Gutierrez and Manuela Molina; three brothers: Chon Rodriguez, George Rodriguez and Cruz Rodriguez.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by three sons: Rudy, Danny and Roy Rodriguez.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
