Gordon Day, 85, of Andrews passed away Saturday March 17, 2012 at his home in Andrews.

Gordon was born February 26, 1927 in White Flat, Texas to E.H. and Della Irene Day.

He served in the US Army during World War II. He married Dora Thomas March 9, 1948, she preceded him in death in 1988.

He married Elsie Lindley June 16, 1990 in Andrews.

Mr. Day worked installing telephone poles and lines for several years he moved his family to Andrews in 1963.

He worked and retired with the Andrews Independent School District. He also had a small engine repair business as well as Day's Sharp All. He loved to renovate old houses and turn them into rental property, and he built his house himself from the ground up. He loved to pick on his grandkids and help teach them things. And he was very good at supporting our Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora, his parents, brothers, Allen Gatlin, Truman Day, Bill Day; sister Mavis Adams and his grandson, Kenny Cross.

He is survived by his wife Elsie Day of Andrews; sons, Mitchell Day of Mims and fiance Kim Stultz, Florida; Marshall Day and his wife Debbie of Gatesville, Texas; daughters, Dianne Warren and her husband Gill; Cynthia Blocker and husband Larry; Carolyn Abney and husband James all of Andrews; brothers Pete Day and wife Pat of North Richland Hills, Texas; Wallace Day and wife Thelma of Spur, TX; Ted day and wife Martha of Tulia, TX; sister Ginger Barnhill and fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
