Palma Oneita Taylor, 84, of Andrews passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Andrews, Texas.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. H.A. Hanks and Rev. James Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral.

Palma was born March 26, 1929 to Andrews N. Trull and Dovie Frazier Trull. She graduated from Iraan High School. Palma married Julian W. "Dude" Taylor December 7, 1946. J.W. Taylor passed away in August 1990.

She married Henry McElreath on November 22, 1991; they had just celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. A veteran of 41 years of accounting work, Palma was a Certificate Public Accountant working with Ira Lee Brannan, CPA and then became owner-partner with Gene Cummins and Company. Before becoming a CPA, she worked in automotive accounting in Iraan, Texas. After moving to Andrews in 1955, she worked for Johnny Smith Motor Company until 1966.

Palma was extremely active in First Baptist Church. She held several positions as church treasurer, mission work, Sunday School teacher and victory singers. Palma was also involved in civic affairs with the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Toastmasters, and was an active member in professional accounting circles statewide. She was recognized in "Who's Who" of the Permian Basin.

Palma is survived by her husband, Henry McElreath; children, Julia "Judy" Taylor Foster of Midland, Virginia "Ginny" and husband George A. Clark of San Angelo, Priscilla "Pris" Taylor of Midland; stepchildren, Lori McElreath Stricklan of Eldorado, Lisa Ann McElreath Gillmore of Bryan , College Station, Texas; four grandchildren, George Preston Clark, II, Melanie Stricklan, Tracie Stricklan, and Johnnie Brassfield; and three great-grandchildren, Shea Clark, Ethan Forrester Clark, and George Clark.
