Gertrude (Gertie) Lawrence McCormick, 82, of Albuquerque NM, formerly of Seminole, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.

Graveside services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole. Interment followed with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Gertie was born April 7, 1926 in Bloomburg to John Albert (Booker) and Julie Ann Brimer Dobson. She married Leon Lawrence in Atlanta on November 6, 1943. While living in Seminole, Gertie worked for Montgomery Wards. She was a beloved mother, aunt, and great-aunt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Almer Patton of Seminole, and a great-nephew John Albert Hopkins of Albuquerque, NM.

She is survived by her son, Michael Lawrence, of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter Deborah O’Conner and husband John of Irvine, Calif.; nieces and husbands Judy and Kenneth Braun of Seminole, Jo and Jim McIntosh of Bullhead City, Ariz.; great-niece and husband, Twila and Michael Larkin, of Albuquerque, NM; great-great-nephews, Drew Larkin of Abilene and Dock Hopkins of Albuquerque, NM; and beloved friends, Bill Heflin and Ray Aragon, of Albuquerque.
