Gail Whitney Legg, 94, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, February 07, 2012 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel.

She was born November 19, 1917 in Denison, Texas to Loy Grace and George W. Whitney.

She graduated from St. Xavier Academy and Our Lady of Victory College in Fort Worth, Texas.

She came to Big Spring in 1933 from Ft. Worth.

She was a professional musician having played the accordion, piano and organ. She played with the Texas Cowgirls on KGKO. She taught music for many years in Big Spring. She played for 17 years at Furr's Cafeteria.

She was a fifty year member of Big Spring Chapter 67 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son: Bill Bonner of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Lonnie Legg on June 21, 2001 and one brother George Whitney, Jr.
