Lawrence Ray Lewis, 88, of Big Spring, died Saturday, January 17, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 19, 2015 at Trinity Memorial Park.

Lawrence Ray was born January 6, 1927 to Olen and Emma Lewis in Lamesa, Texas.

Lawrence Ray enjoyed 61 years of marriage to Ruby Faye Roberts Lewis.

Lawrence Ray served in the Navy during World War II and spent many years in the oil industry where he was known as “Pluto.”

He enjoyed traveling in his RV, reading and eating seafood.

Lawrence Ray and Ruby were members of 14th & Main Church of Christ.

Lawrence Ray is survived by three sons, Lawrence Ray Lewis Jr. and wife, Emma of Big Spring, Russel Lewis and wife, Teresa of Wichita, KS, and Randall Lewis of Hobbs, NM; seven grandchildren, Taylor Lewis and wife, Sara, Katherine Hennecke and husband, Andrew, Rebekah Lewis, Devon Lewis, Owen Lewis, Brian Aguilar and Eric Aguilar; and eight great grandchildren.

Lawrence Ray was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

The family would like to thank Compass Hospice for their compassionate care.

The family suggests memorials to the donor’s favorite charity.
