Geraldine Lewis, 95, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in a Midland nursing home.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.
Geraldine was born January 29, 1919 in Annona, Texas and married Alton Lewis February 22, 1936 in Ackerly, Texas. He preceded her in death February 6, 1983.
She moved to the Vincent community in 1952 and to Big Spring in 1963. She then moved to Midland in 2002 to be near her children. She loved to hoe cotton and work word find puzzles. Her greatest joys in life were all her grandchildren. Geraldine had a strong faith in God and is now resting in His presence.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Lewis and wife, Molly of Midland; three grandchildren, D. Lewis, Monica Threlkeld and husband, William all of Midland and Eric Lewis of Moore, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren, SSgt. Shannon Murray and wife, Megan of Okinowa, Japan, Kara Wagner and husband, Jeremy of Gardendale; Zackary Lewis of Midland, Skye Lewis and Caleb Lewis both of Moore, Oklahoma and Max Threlkeld and wife, Molly of Santa Cruz, California; and five great-great-grandchildren, Laityn Wagner, Dalton Wagner, Easton Wagner, Ayslyn Murray and Levi Murray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Edgar Creel and Ira Lela Martin Creel; three brothers, Martin Creel, Jack Creel and Virgil Creel; and a sister, Maurine Chadwick.
