Royce LaVerne Lewis, 77, of New Braunfels, formerly of Coahoma, died on Thursday, October 31, 2002, in a New Braunfels nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2002, at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of First Baptist Church in Coahoma, officiating.

She was born on April 26, 1925 in Howard County, Texas and married Auda Vee Lewis on July 21, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1981.

Mrs. Lewis was a lifelong resident of Howard County. She had lived in Coahoma for many years and had been secretary for Howard County Justice of the Peace, Willie Grant.

She loved quilting and crocheting and enjoyed playing dominoes and 42.

She was a Baptist.

Survivors include one son, Bill Lewis and wife, Janet, of LaGrange; two daughters, Sharon Kay Self and husband, Wade, of Batchelor, Louisiana and Mary Brooks and husband, Brent, of Canyon Lake; one sister, Dorothy Jones of Azle; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Winnie Lee Hardin Porch; and one brother, Clifford Porch.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 3205 W. Cuthbert, Ste A-8, Midland, Texas 79701 or to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 376, Coahoma, Texas 79511.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
