Dorothy Gean (Hull) Long died Thursday, October 8, 2015 in a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rick Cunningham, minister of the 14th and Main Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born March 6, 1942 to Willie (Bill) and Juanita Hull in Stanton, Texas, where she was raised and graduated high school.

In 1960 she married Kimmie Juel Long and they had four sons.

She was a member of the 14th and Main Church of Christ and was actively involved in the Big Spring Prospectors Club and Howard County Master Gardeners, until health problems caused her to stop.

She enjoyed crafts and working in her flower beds.

Dorothy enjoyed people, especially family. She kept records for the Hull Family reunions. She also volunteered at Parkview Nursing Home, visiting residents weekly for the past several years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Willie (Bill) Hull; her mother, Juanita Atchison Hull; and her brother, Bobby Don Hull all of Stanton.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kimmie (Kim) Long; four sons, Kim Allen Long and wife, Dorthean (Dotty), Brady Long and wife, Reginia, Kelly Long and wife, Angie and Cory Long and wife, Michelle. She is also survived by John Elliott and his wife, Patricia, who were like her other son and daughter to her. She also leaves a brother, Homer Lee Hull and wife, Doris; a sister, Loveta Hull Pope and husband, Ray; six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, church family, treasured friends and many others whose lives she touched in special ways.

The family suggests memorials to the Manuelito Navajo Children's Home, P. O. Box 58, Gallup, New Mexico 87305-0058 or www.manuelitohome.org.
