Myrtle Long, 85, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 in Midland. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with Greg Long and Gleneita Everett, officiating.
Myrtle was born November 7, 1923, in Montgomery County, Arkansas to Armittie and George Tidwell. She married Glen Long on January 18, 1941 in Glenwood, Arkansas. He preceded Myrtle in death on December 11, 1994. She was a member of the Baptist church.Myrtle was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to crochet, sew and cook.
Survivors include son, Dennis Long of Midland; son, Gary Long and his wife, Cheryl of Greenwood; son, Greg Long and his wife Josie of Midland; son, Kyle Long and his wife Evelyn of Sweetwater; daughter, Gleneita Everett and her husband David of Pineville, Louisiana; daughter, Vicki Hallmark and her husband Wes of Lubbock; brother, Donald Tidwell; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by parents, grandson, Kevin Shults, brothers, Frazier and Tim Tidwell and sisters, Lorene Sandell, Claudette Tolson and Georgie Dell Tidwell.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
