*Obituary Richard Harold Parker
Richard Harold Parker, 75, of Knott, died on Saturday, October 27, 2012, in a San Diego, CA hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 14th and Main Church of Christ with Larry Marshall and Shawn Gary officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at the funeral home.

He was born on January 28, 1937, in Coahoma, Texas and married Mariam Jean Sample on May 28, 1958 in Big Spring.

Richard farmed in the Knott community for 54 years. He was a member and elder at the Knott Church of Christ and served on the Sands CISD school board.

Survivors include his wife, Mariam Jean Parker; two sons, Steve Parker and wife, Amy, and Clay Parker and wife, Karen; two daughters, Debbie Hardgrave and husband, Mark and Carla Blagrave and husband, Stan; one brother, Bruce Parker and wife, Joyce all of Knott; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Thomas and Isabell (Lay) Parker.

The family suggests memorials be made to Foster's Home for Children, P.O. Box 978, Stephenville TX 76401-0978.

She was born August 19, 1940 in Big Spring to Robert Henry and Miriam Inez Sample.

Jean married Richard Harold Parker May 28, 1958 in Big Spring and he preceded her in death October 27, 2012.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Martin County and graduated from Knott High School in 1958.

She owned and operated J. R.'s Gifts in the Odessa mall for 17 years and also helped Richard with their farming operation.

Jean and Richard loved fishing and hunting.

Her passion was following her grandkids in their sporting events.

She was a member of the Knott Church of Christ.

Survivors include four children, Debbie Hardgrave and husband, Mark, Steve Parker and wife, Amy all of Knott, Carla Blagrave and husband, Stan of Ackerly, and Clay Parker and wife, Karen of Knott; two sisters, Joe Hughes and Kay Long both of Ackerly; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildlren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests memorials to Foster's Home for Children, P. O. Box 920, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
