On Saturday, March 16, 2019, Captain Francisco Pete Rodriguez, 68, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside.
Captain Rodriguez was born October 10, 1950 in Big Spring Texas to Pedro Rodriguez and Maria Saldivar Rodriguez.
He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1969 and attended Texas A&M University, College Station Texas where he joined the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. During his time at A&M he earned degrees in Industrial Technology and Industrial Engineering and graduated a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie class of 1973. He earned his P. E. License in 1990.
Pete was honorably discharged from the Army, Army Reserves, and National Guard, earning the highest rank as Captain, and later opened Lean Manufacturing Solutions as consulting business.
His hobbies included country and western dancing, running, and taking part in the national and local politics.
Pete is survived by sisters Lucy and husband Joe Lopez,
Gloria and husband Jesse Gámez, both from Kingwood, Texas, and sister Janie Rodríguez of Big Spring. He also had 4 nephews and 3 nieces and several great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Lopez, Stephen Stokes, Bryan Stokes, Lee Alcantar, Juan Ayala, and Gilbert Velasquez.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm immediately followed by the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
