Elmer Lee Yarbrough, 78, of Forsan, died Sunday, October 13, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Darren Weaver and Derrick Looney, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the funeral home.
He was born December 28, 1934, in Stamford and married Loretta Turner November 6, 1959 in Big Spring, Texas.
Mr. Yarbrough was a long time resident of Howard County.
He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.
Lee worked for Forsan Oil Company from 1959 to 1973.
He then started his own business, Lee Yarbrough Contruction, retiring in March 2010.
After retirement he continued to do contract pumping for various oil companies.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Yarbrough of Forsan; three sons, Gerald Yarbrough and wife, Susie of Midland, Darrell Yarbrough and wife, Wanda of Colorado City, and Mark Yarbrough and wife, Tiffany of Big Spring; two sisters, LaVerne Dean and husband, A.J. and Barbara Morgan all of Big Spring; two brothers, Preston Yarbrough and wife, Norma of Eastland and Leslie Yarbrough and wife, Kathy of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, Sarah Yarbrough Rook, JoHanna Yarbrough, Morgan Yarbrough, Meagan Hensley, Stormy Emery, Rhonda Goddin, Walker Stendabach, and Sabrina Melson; five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, JoNelle McWhorter of Abilene and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Turner and wife, Claudia of Bangs.
The family suggests memorials be made to Forsan Baptist Church, P.O. Box 234, Forsan, Texas 79733.

Mary Loretta Yarbrough, 81, of Forsan, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Loretta was born March 18, 1940 in Avoca, Texas to Lottie Mary (Pope) and Coy Floyd Turner.
She married Elmer Lee Yarbrough on November 6, 1959 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.
She enjoyed sewing, fishing, her church, and visiting with her friends in Forsan.
She loved her grandkids most of all.
She was a member of Forsan Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons: Gerald Yarbrough and wife Susie, Darrell Yarbrough and Mark Yarbrough and wife Tiffany; one sister: JoNell McWhorter; a brother-in-law: Leslie Yarbrough and a sister-in-law: LaVerne Dean; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Gilbert Turner and Gaylord Turner; one sister: Gretta Sue Yockers, and a daughter-in-law Wanda Yarbrough.
