Nancy "Granny" Ward, 68, of Colorado City, formerly Big Spring, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with family receiving friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral service will be Monday, May 10, 2021 at Myers & Smith Chapel at 2:00 PM with Mike Moates officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
Nancy was born on October 16, 1952 in Beeville.
She married Joe Ward on June 23, 1998 in Big Spring. He passed away on September 18, 2017.
She lived most of her life in Big Spring before moving to Colorado City in 1997.
She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker but also worked at Oasis Grocery and Café in Big Spring as well as Mary's Café in Colorado City.
She loved fishing, gardening and animals.
She is survived by one son: Stacey Gibbs and wife Shannon of Greenwood, MO and one daughter: Kristi Hobbs and husband Glen Dunnahoo of Roswell, NM; four grandchildren: Celeste Outland, Josh Gibbs and two that she raised as her own: Justin Trawick and David Ornelas; her mother: Joyce Davidson of Andrews; two sisters: Cindy Graves and husband Glenn of Lubbock and Vicki Scott of Andrews; one brother: Rusty Phillips and wife Mona of Sand Springs; one sister-in-law: Karan Phillips of Big Spring; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her best friend: Mary Havens.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father: Bill Phillips; stepfather: Ray "Pepa" Davidson; two brothers: Terry Phillips and Gary Phillips: and several nieces and nephews.
