Charles Walter Alexander, 80, resident of Electra 40 years, died Wednesday, July 23, in Electra Hospital following a brief illness

Born June 4. 1889, in Hamilton County, Tenn., he was a retired carpenter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ira Thompson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, J. C. Alexander of Electra, three daughters, Mrs. Freda Hilburn of Duncan, Okla., Mrs. June Little of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Eula Falls of Fort Worth; two brothers, Herbert Alexander of Electra and George Alexander of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. T. E. Smith of Electra; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Cecil King,, Paul Carpenter, E. J. Wiederanders, Joe Thaggard, Bill Barrett and Dan Flippin. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, John Hilburn of Duncan, Okla.; Caros Hilburn of Phoenix, Arizona; Ronald Falls, Fort Worth; and Larry and Stanley Alexander, Electra, and two friends, Fred Warren and J. H. McCracken of Electra._

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel C. Alexander, who died Saturday afternoon in the Electra Hospital, were held at 4:00 p. m. Monday from the chapel of the James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.

Officiating was the Rev. Don Youngblood, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park.

Mrs. Alexander was stricken with an apparent heart attack early Saturday and was taken to the Electra Hospital. She was born Dec. 22, 1890 in Dunlap, Tenn., and was married to Walter C. Alexander of Electra. A resident of Electra for 31 years, she and her husband resided at 721 North Illinois.

Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Mrs. H. F. Hilburn, of Duncan, Okla.; Mrs. W. R. Little of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Roy E. Falls of Fort Worth; one son, J. C. Alexander of Electra; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Barker of Dunlap, Tenn.; Mrs. J. C. Coffelt and Mrs. Venna Stoner, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four brothers, Dewey Lewis and Herman Lewis of Dunlap, Tenn.; Charlie Lewis of Atlanta, Ga., and Herchell Lewis of Spartanburg, S. C.; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren._
