Obituary
Douglas "Doug" Rash Sr. passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009.
Burial: Double Mountain Cemetery in Stonewall County in West Texas. Visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home, with prayer service 7 to 8.
Doug was born June 12, 1944, in Fort Worth. He was a fourth-generation Texan from pioneer heritage, the son of Lloyd and Opal Rash. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1962, attended Arlington State College and majored in labor studies at Tarrant County Junior College. He was a 34-year employee of General Motors, where he served as an elected officer of the United Auto Workers Local 276 for many years. Doug had many hobbies and interests, including fishing, gardening, country-western dancing and billiards. His backyard garden provided vegetables to many friends and neighbors.
Survivors: Son, Douglas L. Rash Jr. of Haslet; grandsons, Kevin and Justin; and brothers, Dwight Rash of Arkansas and Dan Rash of South Carolina.
