Funeral services for Nanie Ruth Davis, 94, of Seminole will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, in the Family Harvest Church with the Rev. Tod Delay officiating and assisted by Michel Powers. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mrs. Davis passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, in Seminole. Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Comanche, Texas, to Sam and Nora Lewis. C.B. Davis and Ruth Lewis were married March 5, 1938, in Graham, Texas. He preceded her in death July 5, 2004. Mrs. Davis was known as Granny Davis to the many children she baby-sat, and she also did ironing for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; seven brothers and sisters; one son, David Davis; and one great-grandson, Jaden Davis. Mrs. Davis is survived by four sons, Dewey W. Davis and his wife Alicia of Selma, Alabama, Ronnie L. Davis and his wife Cathey of Henrietta, Texas, Carl A. Davis and his wife Ida of Levelland, and Benny Davis and his wife Lesa of Seminole; one daughter, Shirley Smotherman of Levelland; two brothers, Odis Lewis of Markley, Texas, and Arthur Lewis of Graham, Texas; and one sister, Artie Ragsdale of Dangerfield; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
