H.B. Parks, 70, 308 3rd, Morse, died at 7 p.m. Sunday in his home.

A retired farmer, he was a native of Texhoma and a lifetime Hutchinson County resident.

He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force in WWII and a member of First Christian Church of Stinnett, charter member of Morse Lions Club. He was a Mason and a member of Scottish Rite. He is a graduate of Morse High School and married LaVerne Henderson in 1945 in Amarillo.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerne Parks of the home; two sons, Wade Parks and Lynn Parks, both of Morse; two daughters, Sylvia Faries of Louisville, Ky., Sharon Graves of Ralls, Florence Moore of Dallas; seven grandchildren.

Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Home.

MORSE - LaVerne Parks, 81, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church of Stinnett with the Rev. Jim West, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Parks was born Dec. 8, 1924, on the family farm in Hutchinson County. She was a former schoolteacher for Morse ISD and was a member of First Christian Church in Stinnett. She played the organ at church. She married H.B. Parks on Oct. 24, 1945, in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1991.

She had a porcelain bisque business, loved to china paint and loved her children and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Alva Henderson in 1945; her mother, Bessie Henderson in 1984; and two brothers, Earl Henderson in 1983 and Deryl Henderson in 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Lynn Parks and Wade Parks and wife, Rosemary, all of Morse; two daughters, Sylvia Faries and husband, Kenneth, of Louisville, Ky., and Sharon Kurklin and husband, Gene, of Petersburg; two sisters-in-law, Nell Henderson of Morse and Lorraine Henderson of Stafford, Mo.;, seven grandchildren, David Graves of Houston, Dustin Parks of Austin, Chris Parks of Fritch, Deidra Stephens of Round Rock, Amy McCollum of Roanoke, Stephanie Greer of Nashville, Tenn., and Chase Parks of Morse; and two great-granddaughters, Emily McCollum and Meg McCollum both of Roanoke.

Casket bearers will be David Graves, Dustin Parks, Chris Parks, Chase Parks, Dan McCollum, Eric Greer and Brian Stephens.
