BORGER - J.B. Hunt Jr., 81, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Garden of Beatitudes in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. William Houghton, retired pastor, and the Rev. Joseph Kennedy, interim pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Hunt was born in Cooper County, Mo., and moved to Borger in 1935 from Clarksburg, Mo. A World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, he served in China, Burma and India theater of operations. He spent many years in car sales and finance and then retired as county auditor in 1982.

Mr. Hunt was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242, Valley of El Paso Scottish Rite, Khiva Temple Shrine, and Borger Elks Lodge No. 1581.

He married Phyllis Piecuch in 1947 at Borger. She died in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, John Hunt of Amarillo and Bill Hunt of Borger; a daughter, Beverly Turner of Borger; a sister, Merl Burks of Belton, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 1706 Boyd. They suggest memorials be to a favorite charity or St. Peter's Memorial Fund.
