Gerald David Tyson
October 29, 1942 - May 24, 2014

Gerald David Tyson, 71, of Whitney died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Friday, May 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Borger, Texas, with Dr. Scott Maze, Pastor of North Richland Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Gerald was born October 29, 1942 to Jessie Edward and Eunice Ann Fields Tyson in Borger. He graduated from Stinnett High School in 1961. Gerald went to work for Disco in August of 1970 and retired July 2012 after 42 years of service.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Marie Tyson; first wife, Minnie Anderson Tyson; sister, Kathryn Marie Barber; twin sister, Gelene Ruth Hunter; and a brother, Gene Edward Tyson.

Survivors include his wife, Ann of the home; sons, David Tyson and wife, Sue of Austin, Austin Tyson of Lubbock; stepdaughters, Tanya Dickerson of Lewisville, Kim Cleveland of Denton; stepson, Michael Dickerson of Amarillo; step-grandsons, Ashton Baca of Houston, Jacob and Grayson Cleveland of Denton; step-granddaughters, Britani Greene and husband, Josh of Borger, Taylor Cleveland of Denton, Alyssa Bowling of Lewisville; great grandson, Brayden Greene of Borger; sister Pat Pruett of Borger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

BORGER - Minnie Anderson Tyson, 62, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Scott Maze, pastor, and the Rev. Wyatt Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Tyson was born Sept. 16, 1944, in Borger to Belvin Lee and Maudie Marie Wyatt Anderson. She married Gerald Tyson on Dec. 16, 1962, in North Hills Baptist Church in Borger.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Tyson of Austin and Austin Tyson of Borger; and a brother, Belvin Lee Anderson of Zion, Ill.

The family suggests memorials be to Attn: Johnny Miller, Angela Tyson Scholarship Fund, Borger High School Booster Club, 600 W. First St., Borger, TX 79007.
