DUMAS - Wendell Lee West, 86, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Harrington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Garden of Devotion in Borger by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mr. West was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Atwood, Okla. He lived in Fritch 45 years before moving to Dumas seven years ago. He married Ruth Dendy on Sept. 14, 1940, in Shawnee, Okla.

Mr. West was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dumas. He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 30 years.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Truman West.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James "Jim" and wife, Lou, of Fritch and William "Bill" and wife, Paula, of Dumas; a daughter, Mary Jordon and husband, Neal, of Plano; seven grandchildren, Darin, Traci, Stephanie, Darmon, Joseph, Brad and Jennifer; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Sherry of Holdenville, Okla.

The family will be at 307 Floyd in Dumas.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029.
