BORGER, May 27 - Kirby Lee Harris, 46 years old, died on the Phillips golf course this afternoon a moment after friends congratulated him on the fine approach shot he had made to the No. 9 green in tournament play.
Three companions in the game with Harris said he collapsed suddenly after making the shot. Physicians said he had suffered a heart attack.
Harris had been a resident of Borger more than 10 years. He had worked as a welder for the Fowler Blacksmith Shop here.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in Blackburn-Shaw-Brown Chapel, with Ethel Ryder, Christian Science reader, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Sylvia Harris; a son, Jimmie Lee, and a stepson, Allen Ross, both of Borger; the mother, Mrs. Lug Harris of Pauls Valley, Okla.; three brothers, Rome of Tulia, Ollie of Stratford, Okla., and Frank of Oklahoma City, and a sister, Mrs. R.A. Carter of Pauls Valley.
