*Obituary
Dr. C.L. Hopper, 67, a pioneer Borger dentist who had resided here since 1926, died early Tuesday evening at North Plains Hospital following a brief illness.
Dr. Hopper originally came from Louisville, Ky., where he graduated from Dental School He was a 32nd degree Mason at Louisville. He was also a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges, the Borger Dental Society and the Knights of Pythias. He was the only man in Texas to hold the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in the Moose Lodge. He was awarded the coveted Pilgrim award in 1956 at Moosehart, Ill., the national headquarters of the Loyal Order of Moose.
He first came to Borger in May, 1926, and commuted twice a week from Amarillo until his offices were completed in August, 1926. He had an office at Fifth and Main at the time of his death. He resided at 1127 Valley Drive.
He attended Wesley Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Hopper; three daughters, Mrs. Caroline McCloud of Borger, Barbara Hopper of Borger, and Joan Hopper of Borger; a sister, Mrs. Cleora Wicks of Louisville; and one grandson.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wesley Methodist Church. Rev. O.A. McBrayer, Wesley pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown, Funeral Director.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Borger Dental Society. Active Bearers will be Dr. Sam Archambeau, Cecil House, Beecher Dees, Kenneth Lawing, Earl Long, and Blondie Hawks.
