Wallis Nelson, 58, of 631 S. Hedgecoke, died at 2 a.m. this morning following a heart attack suffered at his home.

Nelson, a resident of Borger for the past 25 years, was rushed to North Plains Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Glenn, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery under the direction of Minton's Funeral Home.

A veteran of World War I, Nelson first came to Texas in 1924 from his native state of Colorado. He was associated with King Oil Company and Phillips Petroleum Company before opening a photography business in 1944.

Nelson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rotary and Knife and Fork Club.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Waight, Jr., of Borger and Janeane and Janette of the home; one son, Rev. Jimmy Nelson of Snyder; three sisters, Mrs. Earnest Bull of Cedaredge, Colo., Mrs. Mary Knuze of Dennison, Colo., and Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Denver.
