Dollie Pearl Riley
March 18, 1922 - August 20, 2015

Dollie Pearl Riley, 93, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015.

Funeral service will be held at 3 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 in Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Gilmore and Rev. Bruce Ridling, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the funeral home in Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to the Camp Masterson Retreat Center, 500 Riverview Road, Borger, Texas 79007 or to Hospice of the Southwest, 6600 Killgore Drive #110, Amarillo, Texas 79106.

Dollie was born March 18, 1922 in Stringtown, Oklahoma to Sarah (Jackson) and John Friend. She and her twin brother were the youngest of ten children. Dollie and her husband, Jim were founding members of Borger Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in the church. Ms. Riley enjoyed art especially oil painting. When she was able she enjoyed going dancing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. Very gifted in verse, she wrote poetry and often set them to music. A true matriarch of her family, nothing brought greater joy to her life than family getting all together and family reunions.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Billy Riley; daughter, Patty Sue Riley; grandson, Roy Don Creacy; and seven sisters.

Survivors include her son, Ed Riley of San Diego, California; daughter, Shirley Creacy and husband, Don of Fritch; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; twin brother, Riley Earl Friend of Hawley, Texas; sister, Lorine Callahan of Sherman and a host of extended family.
