*Obituary
WHEELER - W.O. Jones, 88, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Stiles, pastor of Allison Baptist Church in Allison, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born June 24, 1918, in Womack to Lola Mae Poston Jones and Homer Jones Sr. He married Exie Errington on Dec. 10, 1935, in Wheeler. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2005.
Mr. Jones worked for the Texas Animal Health & Sciences Commission of Austin for many years. He also owned and operated Jones Sand & Gravel Co. in Amarillo for 20 years. Mr. Jones had lived in Amarillo for 51 years and in Wheeler for many years. He was a cowboy who loved his horses. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler, the American Quarter Horse Association and Will Rogers Range Riders of Amarillo.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends; and a special friend, Pat Surtees of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
