WHEELER - Mary Grace Porter, 98, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Conroe.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Wheeler, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Porter was born in Troy where she graduated from Troy High School. She then attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and Southwest Texas State University. She was a longtime resident of Wheeler before moving to Houston several years ago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Wednesday Study Club and the Garden Club.
She married James Nelson Porter in 1929 at Wheeler. He died in 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Crouch of Conroe and Rosemary Lewis of San Antonio; a sister, Ruth Hardgrave of Fort Stockton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
