O. J. Beene, Friona, Dies

FRIONA (Special) - Services for O.J. Beene, 53, longtime Friona businessman, will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Friona.

Beene died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Parmer County Community Hospital here after being admitted about 11 a.m.

The Rev. Bill Foil, Baptist pastor, will officiate at the services, and burial will be in West Park Cemetery, Hereford, under direction of Claborn Funeral Home of Friona.

Beene was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Hereford, and came to Friona in 1945, operating a drug store here until 1956. He since has been an insurance representative.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Decimae Beene, a teacher in the Friona schools, and two sons, Jay and Ramey, all of the home; a brother, Bill Beene, Friona; and two aunts, Mrs. C.C. Barnett, Plainview, and Mrs. Myrtle Beene, Hereford.
