*Obituary Amelia H. Garcia

June 21, 1943 - November 23, 2011

Mass of Christian Burial for Amelia H. Garcia, 68, of Hereford, will be celebrated at La Iglesia de San Jose at 11 a.m. November 25, 2011, with the Reverend John Valdez, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Deacon Vicente Garcia as celebrants. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home, a member of the Texas Funeral Directors Association. A prayer vigil will be recited at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home on November 24, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Garcia passed from this life on November 23, 2011, in Hereford.

Amelia H Garcia was born June 21, 1943, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Jesus and Guadalupe Hernandez Garcia. She had been a life long resident of Hereford moving here from Nuevo Laredo shortly after her birth. She me and fell in love with Adolfo Garcia, Sr. and they were married on June 6, 1961, in Hereford. Mr. Garcia passed away in November of 2005. She was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen at King's Manor Methodist Home and member of La Iglesia de San Jose.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Adolfo Garcia, Jr and wife Krista of San Antonio, Eliazar "Chuck" Garcia and wife Adela, and Daniel Garcia and wife Victoria both of Hereford; four brothers, Vicente Garcia, and Elijo Garcia both of Hereford, Jesus Garcia of Houston and Raymond Garcia of Calif.; five sisters, Concepcion Garcia, Ramona Nanez, Maria Barrientos, Simona Vasquez, and Janie Galan all of Hereford; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gomer Garcia and one daughter Paula Rodriguez.
