Maria Antonio Garcia, 56, of Hereford, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday in Westage Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Rose Chapel with Robert Gamez of San Antonio officiating. The Rev. Lanny Wheeler, chaplain of Westgate Nursing Home, will assist. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery under the direction of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Garcia was born in Morton and moved to Hereford in 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eseueln Magnectica Espiritual de la Comuna Universal.

Survivors include a son, Steve of Mesquite; four daughters, Iris Pesina of Carrolton, Barbara Valdez of Irving, Linda Hill of Euless and Julie Garcia of Hereford; four brothers, Fernando Gamez of San Angelo and Refugio Gamez, Joey Gamez and Mike Gamez, all of Hereford; four sisters, Angelina Garcia of San Antonio, Lupe of Bakersfield, Calif., and Elva Garcia and Irene Limas, both of Hereford; and eight grandchildren.
