The funeral of John Carl Williams, 70, retired farmer who resided at 527 South Main Street was conducted Saturday afternoon in First Christian Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Eugene Brink, minister, officiated.
Mr. Williams died suddenly Friday in the emergency room of a hospital, where he had taken the victim of an automobile accident. He had lived in Deaf Smith County since 1917, when he came from Burkburnett.
Born Dec. 23, 1896 at Sipe Springs, he married Miss Zoe Womble here Dec. 13, 1925.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn DeLozier and Miss Fanelda [sic] Williams of Hereford; three sons, Delmo of Hereford, Duane of Amarillo and Arvell of Canyon; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Smith of Bethesda, Md., Mrs. Veta Kay [sic] of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Velma Brigance of West Point, Miss.; and two brothers, A.R. Williams of Amarillo and Gerald Williams of Clinton, Ark.
Burial in West Park Cemetery was directed by Gililland Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Spicer Gripp, Glenn Gripp, John D. Manikin, Robert Veigel, Lew Lea, Bob Veigel, Bert Brown and Bruce Coleman.
