Evangelina Zarate Capetillo de Martinez was born on July 19,1943 to Basilio Zarate & Guadalupe Capetillo de Zarate in Matamoros, Tampaulipas Mexico. Married Ovidio Martinez of Falfurrias Texas on March 23, 1963, in Matamoros. They lived in Lockney Texas till 1964 and moved to Seagraves Texas where they have been pastors at Sendero/Pathway A/G. Evangelina was a homemaker who enjoyed serving God, her family and her church beside her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Juana, Rosie, Josefina, Ramon & Lupita and an adopted son Pete Saens.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, sons: Steve & wife Karen of Plainview, Tx; Marco Antonio & wife Deanna of Midlothian, Tx; Ovidio Jr. & wife Melinda Martinez of Seagraves, Tx; daughter: Evie & husband Edward Rivera of Lubbock, Tx; Sister: Manuela Aldrete of Matamoros; Brother Ramiro Zarate of Matamoros; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, January 29 at 5:30 pm in Sendero/ Pathway A/G 402 Ave J Seagraves, Tx. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 30 at 11:00 am in First Baptist Church of Seagraves under the direction of Ratliff Funer Home. Memorials may be made to Sendero/Pathway A/G Box 998 Seagraves, Texas 79359.
