*Obituary Katholeen Harmon Williams
Katholeen B. Williams, a 63 year resident of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2005, at the age of 89. In her memory, a graveside service will be conducted at Trinity Memorial Park, at 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005, with Rev. Rex Clayton, pastor of East Fourth Baptist Church, officiating. Hymns will be sung by Suzanne Cranford of Big Spring.

Mrs. Williams was born October 30, 1915, in Olney, Young County, Texas.

Katholeen married Burlon Hendrix Williams on January 18, 1936, at the "Rock of Ages" inside Carlsbad Caverns, Carlsbad, New Mexico. The couple moved to Big Spring in 1942 from Monahans, Ward County, Texas. Mrs. Williams was a beautician since 1935, having worked in several shops in Pecos and Big Spring. She opened "Katholeen's Beauty Shop" in 1961.

She is survived by her children: Nelda Kay Jones of Lamesa, Texas; Thomas J. Williams and his wife Carolyn of Houston, Texas; and Linda Sue Battle and her husband Bill of Big Spring. Katholeen has six grandchildren: Joni Deanne Hodges and her husband Steve D. of Midland, Royce Reagan Williams and his wife Elyse of Houston, Clifton Chad Williams and his wife Laurie of Brentwood, Tennessee, Kyle Jason Jones and his wife Kristi of Wolfforth, Jana Renae McQueary and her husband Thomas William of Big Spring, and Kelsey Lauren Battle of Big Spring. Katholeen has six great-grandchildren: Ashley Megan Hodges of Midland, Clifton Connor Williams and Chelsea Rae Williams of Brentwood, Tennessee, Alexander Reagan Williams and Maxwell Malone Williams, both of Houston, and Karleigh Shae Jones of Wolfforth.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Burlon Hendrix Williams on May 10, 1999; her parents: Arthur Dick Harmon and Myrtle Gray Harmon; brother: Arthur Dick Harmon, Jr.; and one sister: Juanita Sewell McMahon.

Pallbearers will be Royce Reagan Williams, Clifton Chad Williams, Kyle Jason Jones, Steve Dwayne Hodges and Thomas William McQueary.

The family requests memorial gifts be directed to the East Fourth Street Baptist Church, Building Fund, 401 E. 4th Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720.

Mrs. Williams was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church for 60 years. The church records reflect her date of Baptism as August 25, 1945.

Family members will receive friends at Myers & Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 7:00 until 8:00 PM. Myers & Smith Funeral Home is located at 301 East 24th Street in Big Spring, Texas.
