Ammons Funeral Services Slated

Funeral services for Charles C. Ammons, 54, will be held at the Fargo Baptist Church at 3 pm Saturday with Rev. Otis Strickland, former pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. John Nelson, pastor of the church. Interment under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home will be in Fargo Cemetery.
Mr. Ammons was found shot to death near his home at Doans Friday morning. He had been a resident of the Doans community for the past 40 years.
Surviving relatives include the widow; one son, Kenneth Ammons and one daughter, Geneva Ammons both of Vernon, one sister, Mrs. L.B. Woodard of Doans and one brother, Robert Ammons also of the Fargo community.

Note: 1st cousin, Alfred Woodard, who was 17 years old when great Uncle Carl died told me that "he went out behind the barn and shot himself but no one ever talked about it." He could offer no explanation as to why. I never heard Mother of Daddy talk about it.
