When Hulda Elizabeth Smith was born on June 30, 1900, in Missouri, her father, Grant, was 36, and her mother, Lou, was 33. She had one son and one daughter with Charlie Carl Ammons between 1919 and 1920. She died on January 12, 1984, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 83, and was buried in Fargo, Texas.
