FRITCH - James Douglas Cooper, 76, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.

Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Director Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church in Borger. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery in Borger.

James was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Elk City, Okla., to John and LuRena Lamm Cooper. He married Annette Scheidemantel on June 3, 1952, in Canute, Okla.

Jim owned and operated Panhandle Line Service. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also worked with cattle and ranching.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ted Cooper.

Survivors include his wife, Annette; two sons, Tim Cooper and wife Lynn and Scott Cooper and wife Lori, all of Borger; three daughters, Teri Hogue and husband Richard, Tanya Fraley and husband Shawn, and Cindy Boyer and husband Mickey, all of Borger; a brother, Floyd Cooper of Yukon, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to St. Bonaventure, P.O. Box 610, Thoreau, NM 87323.
