Lucille Brown, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Borger with elder H. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.

Lucille Brown, 88, was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Waurika, Okla., to Arthur and Myrtle Johnson. She attended Oklahoma public schools. The family moved to Borger, where she met and married Roy Brown in February 1941. She and Roy were the parents of 14 children. Roy, a daughter and a son preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ for more than five decades, where she served as mother of the church, sunshine band, purity class and many other areas of the church. She loved her family dearly. Due to health problems, she moved to Pampa, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Marvin Dehls.

She leaves to cherish her memory Bessie Choyce of Pauls Valley, Okla., Drucilla Hutchinson of Borger, Kenneth and Elnora Brown of Hermit, Calif., Roy Stanford Brown of Lake Jackson, Judith and Marvin Dehls of Pampa, Myrtle Robinson of Waco, Joys and Edward Ausborne of Grand Junction, Colo., Bobbie and Elisha Demerson of Amarillo, Charles and Mildred Brown of Temple, Okla., Ella and Howard Newsome of Amarillo, Virgil and Bridgette Brown of Amarillo and Nadine and Terrence Simmons of Auburn, Wash.; 43 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
