BORGER - Blaine Scott, 83, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Hope in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Scott was born Jan. 24, 1921, in Greensburg, Kan. He was a grocer/manager for Ideal Food Store for 25 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an engineer on the B-17's.

Survivors include two sons, Dick Scott and wife, Kathy, of Elk Falls, Kan., and Ron Scott of Pilot Point; a daughter, Karen Stone and husband, Robert, of Amarillo; a special friend, Leona Smith of Borger; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Amarillo Veteran's Administration Health Care System, Hospice Care Program, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo, TX 79106.

Funeral services for Vivian Calvert Scott, 63, of Borger, were held at 11 a.m. today in Wesley United Methodist Church in Borger with the Rev. Larry E. Ramsey, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Orvil Roby, Bob Flood, Ray Sosebee, Bill Hunt, Lowell Stroup and James Hunsperger.

Mrs. Scott, who died Friday, was the wife of Hutchinson County Commissioner Blaine Scott, whom she married in 1942 in Gulfport, Miss.

She was a Borger resident since 1953 and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked at Ideal Grocery for 24 years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard of Perryton and Ronald of Littlefield, Texas; a daughter, Karen Stone of Amarillo; a brother, Jared Calvert of Prairie Grove, Ark.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
