Funeral services for C.K. Ward, 82, pioneer Borger resident, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. James G. Glenn, pastor, officiating.

Ward, a retired construction superintendent for Phillips Petroleum Co., and one of the First Phillips employees to come to Borger, died Sunday in an Amarillo nursing home. He had been ill for a month.

Coming here in 1926, Ward had been a Borger resident for 38 years.

The body will lie in state at Ed Brown's Chapel of the Fountains here from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to funeral services.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. D.E. Thomas, Amarillo; Mrs. Velma Ward, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Lawson, Wagoner, Okla.; and Mrs. Natalie Ward Cory, Borger; two brothers, George Ward, Claremore, Okla.; and W.B. Ward, Locust Grove, Okla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ward died two days prior to his 82nd birthday.
