Funeral services for James O. Ward, 60, local resident since 1926, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Wagner, pastor, and the Rev. Amos R. Meador, pastor of the Church of Nazarene, officiating. He died at his residence at 210 South Harvey at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown, Funeral Director. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jewel Ward; seven sons, Delbert, James and Barney, all of Borger; Wayne, Troy and Eddie, all of Houston; and Glen of Pampa; three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Greer, Houston; Mrs. Juanita Bell, Greenville; and Miss Billie Jean Ward, Borger; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Miles and Mrs. Ethel Miles, both of Gary, Oklahoma; Mrs. Agnes Crider, Cordell, Oklahoma; one brother, Buck Ward, San Antonio; one half-brother, I.D. Miles, Borger; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Miles, Borger; and 13 grandchildren.

GREENVILLE - Jewel Ward Cox, 88, of 117 Cottonwood Street in Borger, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in Greenville Citizens General Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Kidwell, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors, Borger.
A native of Atoka, Okla., Cox was a homemaker and a Borger resident for 50 years.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She married James O. Ward in 1917 in Atoka who preceded her in death in 1958, and then Homer Cox in 1963 who preceded her in death in 1980.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Coy Ward in 1926 and Troy Ward in 1986.
Survivors include six sons, Barney Ward and Delbert Ward, both of Borger, James L. Ward of Sapulpa, Okla., Wayne Ward of Baytown; Eddie Ward of Denison and Glen Ward of Monroe, La.; three daughters, Lorene Greer of Oakhurst, Juanita Quattlebaum and Billie Jean Feezor both of Greenville; 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
