Dr. William Beene
FRIONA - Services for Dr. William Beene, 62, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Friona with Dr. Carrol Green, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
Dr. Beene died Monday morning in Parmer County Community Hospital in Friona.
An optometrist he was born in Hereford in 1920. He married Rita Alvey May 10, 1947 in Clovis, N.M. He moved to Parmer County in 1960 from Paducah.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Friona Evening Lions Club, and the American Optometric Association. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Brad of Colorado City; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Autry of Friona; a brother, Weldon of Plainview; and two grandsons.
