HEREFORD - James Brownlow, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007.

Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hereford Barn Church with the Rev. Guy Walker officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Brownlow was born May 17, 1934, in Dougherty, the son of Buck and Faye Brownlow. He married Rose Mathes on June 2, 1955, in Clovis, N.M.

Mr. Brownlow retired after co-owning Brownlow Brothers Construction in Hereford for more than 50 years. He was a member of Hereford Barn Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Brownlow; a daughter, Kim Brownlow; and a brother, Emory Brownlow.

Survivors include three daughters, Jaki Val Tyler and husband Kelly of Amarillo, Cathy Jean Gilter and husband Ronnie and Sandy Kay Josserand and husband John, all of Hereford; a brother, Johnny Wayne Brownlow and wife Janice of Hereford; two sisters, Bobbie Wilson and husband Larry of Faith, S.D., and Doris Van Meter of McAdoo; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Barn Church, 3948 FM 1057, Hereford, TX 79045; or Nazarene Christian Academy, 1410 La Plata, Hereford, TX 79045.
