Mary Ethel Young passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.

We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 83 years on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. A tribute of Mary 's life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family.

Mary Ethel was born on November 10, 1934 to Charles C. Mills and Vival Lambright Mills in Goree, Texas.

On September 26, 1951, Mary married the love of her life, Benjamin Young in Lubbock, Texas.

She spent her life a dedicated sister, wife and mother.

She extended her loving care beyond her family through a career as an RN providing nursing care for those in need, from new born babies to the elderly.

Her past time hobbies ranged from sport fishing and hunting to computers.

She spent countless hours advancing the knowledge of COPD to all she knew.

Being well traveled she was able to spread her joy from Louisiana to Alaska, Europe and Central America, while always maintaining her roots in the south planes of Texas.

Survivors include her children, Benjamin C. Young, III; Troy L. Young; Paul J. Young; Linda McKenzie and husband, Bob; Bobby Young and his wife, Barbara; and Tom C. Young; 11 grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; brother, Tommy Clay Mills and wife, Carolyn; sister, Jeanette Holtzclaw Harper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Mills and Vival Louise Jennings; husband, Dr. Benjamin Columbus Young, Jr.; Daughter in law Rebecca Jean Young.
