Services for Burlington Young, 83, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today at Divine Love Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Burns officiating.

Burial will be at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1917 in Marquez. He married Irean Wilson on April 26, 1942, in Marquez. He worked as a carpenter coming to Lubbock from Marquez 53 years ago. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife; a son, R.B. Young of El Paso; five daughters, Kattie M. Edmondson of Austin, Lela Davis and Eunie Young, both of Lubbock, Luther Baynes of Dallas and Cecile Walker of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 13 grandchildren.
