Final rites for David Elijah Adams, 72, who died Sunday in an Electra hospital, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ainsworth pastor, and Rev. Thomas G. Utley of Los Angeles, California officiating. Interment was in Electra Cemetery under direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.
Adams was born March 27, 1908 in Abilene, Texas. He married Hester Burke in Barstow, California, Aug. 3, 1929. He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired painting contractor. He lived in Electra for one year.
Survivors include his wife of San Jose; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Warner of San Jose; two sons, David of Palo Alto, California, and Gene of San Jose; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Good of San Diego, California, Mrs. Lucile Dorris of Scottsdale, Arizona, Mrs. Lois Simmons of Norfolk, Virginia, and Mrs. Mildred Jones of Duncanville, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild._
