GRUVER - Johnny W. Bennett, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Price officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Bennett was born July 30, 1938, in Borger. He was a tool pusher, worked in oil and gas exploration and was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Steve Bennett of Highland Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Paula Kizziar of Gruver; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Kairos Prison Ministry, in care of Rich Melton, 616 S. Barkley, Spearman, TX 79081.

GRUVER - Waynetta Raynett Bennett, 62, died Wednesday, May 29, 1996.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lewis Holland, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Spearman.

A native of Nowata, Okla., she was a former Stinnett and Amarillo resident, and had lived in the Gruver area for three years. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bennett was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church, was active in Kairos Prison Ministries, Golden Spread Emmaus Ministries, and was past president of St. Anthony's Hospital Ladies Auxiliary in Amarillo.

She married Johnny Bennett in 1960 in Stinnett.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Steve Bennett of St. Louis, Mo.; and a brother, Bob Hairgrove of Ballard.

The family requests memorials be made to Kairos Prison Ministries, C/O Gruver United Methodist Church.
