The man who installed the first power lines in Borger, Frank L. Cox, died at his home in Kemah, Tex., Saturday night.

The pioneer Borgan came here in 1926 as an electrical contractor, and he and a son formed Cox & Son Electrical Contractors Inc. in 1933. Cox, 78, moved to Kemah after retirement eight years ago. He was a member of the Borger Elks Lodge.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church. Rev. John Rakestraw, pastor of Wesley Methodist church will officiate, assisted by Rev. J. Weldon Butler, pastor of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are the widow, Iva B. of Kemah; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Moser II, Mrs. Charles Moser III, both of Borger, Mrs. Gladys Stevenson of Lamarque, Tex., and Mrs. Emma Moser of New Iberia, La.; three sons, Loyd of Borger, Clyde of Bartlesville and Frank of Kemah; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Casketbearers are D.W. Page, Ralph E. Bayless, W.T. Harrell, R.E. Sharpe, R.J. Rust, and B.B. Shaw.

Honorary pallbearers are D.R. Rucker, O.C. Collins, Chester Barnes, M.W. Whitfield, Hugh Anderson, Sam Patrick, Earl Laningham Sr., Bill Spears.
