Funeral services for John William Cox, 48-year-old Borgan who died Saturday afternoon from burns suffered in a fire, will be held at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the minister of the Skellytown Baptist Church, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Vern Farquhar, O.H. McClellan, Sam Vann, George Warren, J.W. Roberts, J.M. Malone and G.W. Graham. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
Cox is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters Mrs. Jin Winters of Rolla, Miss., Mrs. Earl McKinney and Louise and Hazel of Borger; one son, Tommy, of Borger; one brother, Arthur Cox of Henryetta, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Dessie Hall and Miss Viola Cox of Henryetta, and Mrs. Floyd Lane of Mesa, Arizona; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cox of Henryetta, and four grandchildren.
He was born May 23, 1895, and died last Saturday afternoon after suffering severe burns in a fire at the Phillips Plains Plant late Friday afternoon. Six other men were burned in the same way, when they neared welders' torches and the butadiene gas in their clothes ignited.
