Tine Leon Phillips, 77, of 512 Green St. in Borger, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday at his home.

A retired director of the House of Friends, he was a native of Mt. Enterprise, Tx. and a Borger resident for 42 yers [sic].

He was a member of Brock Chapel AME Methodist Church, founder of the House of Friends and a former civic leader of Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Corine; his son James of Vernon, Tx.; his siter [sic] Sylvia Taylor of Tyler; and his brother Rev. K.C. Phillips of Henderson, Tx.

Graveside arrangements were hendled [sic] by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Home. A date and time have not yet been set.

BORGER - Perney Corine Phillips, 87, of Borger, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in New Zion Baptist Church with James Meekins officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Phillips was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Mount Enterprise. She was a member of Brock Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include a son, James Oliver Phillips of San Angelo; a brother, Pruitt Johnson of Mount Enterprise; and two sisters, Laurine Davis and Seldon Neal, both of Mount Enterprise.
