BORGER — R.L. Baker, 81, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist church with the Rev. Bill Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in the Eastlawn garden at Highland Park Cemetery by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
R.L. was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Oakwood, Okla., to Raymond "Pete" and Mary Ellen Baker. He married Della F. Chambless April 22, 1950, in Thomas, Okla. R.L lived in Borger more than 60 years and was a Baptist.
He was employed with Phillips Petroleum from Feb. 29, 1952, to Oct. 28, 1985, retiring from the instrument shop.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife on May 16, 2001; three sisters; and a grandson, Austin, in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Casey Baker and wife Jyme of Porter and Stacey J. "Bud" Baker and wife Susie of Borger; a daughter, Cecillia "Sis" Harvey and husband John of Borger; two brothers, Millage Baker, Snip Baker and wife Penny, all of Fay, Okla.; three sisters, Mable Lovelace of Tuttle, Okla., Lahoma Beckloff and husband George and Naomi Anson, all of Oakwood, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to your church or a favorite charity.
